Global Organic Textile Standard

Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is an international certificate for clothing and textiles, that includes both social and environmental demands. GOTS was created in order to make it easier for consumers to choose textiles fabricated with both the environment and a social perspective in mind throughout the entire chain of production. The production chain includes several different steps: cultivation, harvesting, preparation and manufacturing.

The GOTS Certification process includes all the stages that involve the transformation of raw materials starting from production, packaging, labeling, export, import, and distribution. This standard is very demanding, and is updated on the latest sustainable textile trends in environmental practices and fair trade; it controls the use of eco-friendly input that does not jeopardize the workers,  and the final consumer. It is the final consumer’s responsibility to request this certificate, and the producer´s duty to process this document with the certifying agency.

United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)

The Department of agriculture of the United States of America - National Organic Program (NOP) develops, implements and administers the national production standards, handling, and labeling of organic agricultural products. The NOP standard also confirms that the certifier bodies (international and local) that are in charge of conducting audits of productions and operations, are in compliance with this standard.

The Department of Agriculture of the United States (NOP) certifies that our organic Cotton fulfills the USDA standard requirements, persevering biodiversity, not using genetically modified seeds, synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers.

EU Organic farming logo

The European Union bases its organic agriculture program on the Regulation EC 834/2007, that regulates the production, management and labeling of the organic products through the European Union.

Wherever today's consumers choose to buy or eat organic products, they should be able to have confidence that these comply with strict EU rules. Products that do not meet these standards may not be referred to as organic or bear the EU's organic logo or a national equivalent. This is why the EU regulation on organic farming covers not only production and processing, but also the control and labelling of organic food.

THE ORGANIC LOGO GUARANTEES that...
  • The production respects nature.
  • The products are produced in a sustainable way.
  • The operators of organic production are controlled once per year by control bodies or control authorities to ensure that they respect all organic rules and all health and consumer protection rules.
  • Most of the inputs for farm production come from the farm itself using local resources and local knowledge.
  • Each and every time you buy an organic product from your supermarket, or choose an organic wine at your favorite restaurant, you can be sure they were produced according to strict rules aimed at respecting the environment and animal welfare.
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100

The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished, and finished textile products at all processing levels, as well as accessory materials used. Examples of articles that can be certified: raw and dyed/finished yarns, woven and knitted fabrics, accessories, such as buttons, zip fasteners, sewing threads or labels, ready-made articles of various types (garments of all types, domestic and household textiles, bed linen, terry products and much more).

With its decades of experience, the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 therefore contributes to high and effective product safety from a consumer’s point of view. Test criteria and limit values in many cases go far beyond applicable national and international standards. Extensive product checks and regular company audits also ensure that the industry has a globally sustainable awareness of the responsible use of chemicals. With this concept, the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 has taken on a pioneering role for many years.
